So why do I call her Justine the Wonder Puppy? Keep reading.
First, I call her Justine the Wonder Puppy because she is about 25lbs in size and the vet says she is full-grown. Justine is a mix between a Labrador Retriever and a German Shepherd. She is a Labro-Shepherd.
Both of those are big dogs. So, the fact that Justine will never be that large is quite unique and was a nice surprise to me. She will remain "puppy size" for the rest of her life. She's a mini-lab-o-shepherd! And I think that is wonderful. Hence, Wonder Puppy.
Another reason why I call her Justine the Wonder Puppy is because she is a survivor of a contagious life-threatening deadly doggy virus. After having her just barely a week, at just several weeks old, Justine contracted the infamous and deadly doggy Parvo-Virus.
The Parvo-Virus kills most dogs. Lucky for me, God had other plans. I rushed her to the doggy hospital after noticing a change in her energy and mood. (I had to pay cash for her treatment because I had not yet obtained doggy insurance.)
When I dropped her at the vet hospital, and drove away, I cried my butt off! They warned me that I might not see her again. But Justine wasn't havin' it! She's a fighter; she knew she had many years of play left in her. And she was not about to miss out on that! Her will was strong. She was strong. And that is what saved her. She saved herself. (I cried again when they called me to come and pick her up.)
The bond between us has been unbreakable ever since.
Justine the Wonder Puppy. She's a Fighter. She's a Warrior. She's a Wonderment.
Justine is a Joy to Be Around.
Justine is Love.
